Donald and Pluto Group of 4 Donald Duck Animation Drawings (Walt Disney, 1936)."Hey! Cut it out! Cut it out!" squawks Donald in that distinctive voice of his. Donald has been working as a plumber - and for some reason, he is convinced that a large horseshoe magnet is just what he needs to help make his job easier. Pluto has swallowed the aforementioned magnet, which has settled in his bottom...and now his rump attracts any and all magnetized metal objects including an alarm clock, a drawer full of knives, and an entire ladder's-worth of nails! Ultimately, Pluto ends up on the roof of the house - and so his behind attracts Donald to the indoor ceiling, because of the wrench that the duck holds. This hilarious sequence of drawings can be seen near the 6:25 point in the film. This was the first short to feature both Pluto and Donald together in a starring role. The film was directed by Ben Sharpsteen and features animation by Shamus Culhane and Fred Spencer. Fred Spencer was considered the authority on Donald Duck, especially in terms of character analysis. This film was also the first to use Spencer's updated character design for Donald, which closely resembles his modern look still in use today. These four lively drawings depict the quintessential Donald - that is, an angry Donald. Very expressive and energetic poses featuring the scowling duck have all been drawn in graphite and colored pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Minor toning and creasing of paper. In Very Good condition.
