Description

Donald and Pluto Donald Duck Animation Drawing Sequence of 5 (Walt Disney, 1936). Donald's a plumber who has a little trouble with a powerful magnet and a wrench, both on the floor and on the ceiling - after Pluto swallows the magnet! This Ben Sharpsteen-directed short was first shown on 9/12/1936. This was the first short to feature both Pluto and Donald together in a starring role; the animation was by Shamus Culhane and Fred Spencer. The five drawings are rendered with graphite and colored pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper, and they are marked in their lower right corners with 117 (approximate image size 3" x 3.5"), 120 (2.75" x 3"), 138 (3.5" x 3.25"), 145 (4.5" x 2.5"), and 166 (6" x 2.25"). This last page has some handling and edge wear plus a small tear along the left edge, and a bit of age-related paper toning. The remaining pages are in Very Good condition with minor handling and mild paper toning.
