A stowaway rat catches glimpse of the Navy watch dog Pluto in this fantastic original animation drawing from the Charles Nichols-directed theatrical short Dog Watch. Released on 3/16/1945, this wartime classic cartoon sees Pluto tasked with keeping watch of a ship while its crew is on shore leave. This fantastic drawing featuring the troublesome rat can be seen at the 2:35 mark of the film, rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Numbered 132 in the lower right corner, this drawing measures 2.5" x 2", and it shows minor handling and edge wear from normal production use. Light toning, tape marks/stains on edges, and the condition is Very Good.
