Crusader Rabbit Fan Art Illustration (Television Arts Productions, c. 1980s/90s). Television's first original animated star is immortalized in this wonderful piece of fan art. Terrytoons animator Alex Anderson created the concept for Crusader Rabbit, the first original animated series made for television. With the help of Jay Ward (years before his great success, Rocky and Bullwinkle), the show premiered in 1950 as a syndicated series. The original black and white series featured Crusader Rabbit and his friend Ragland "Rags" T. Tiger (the "T" stood for "The"), with 195 episodes that ran from 1950 until 1952. Actress/voice talent Lucille Bliss (1916 - 2012) starred as the voice of Crusader Rabbit. This large professional-looking drawing is created in graphite, white crayon, and black marker on goldenrod-colored illustration board. Crusader Rabbit stands 9" tall. The art is framed with glass for an overall size of 21.75" x 17.75". Frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Fine. From the Estate of Lucille Bliss
