Description
Cinderella Rare Original Storyboard Group of 8 Attributed to Joe Rinaldi (Walt Disney, 1950). "Isn't it lovely? Do you like it?" We present an exceptionally rare group of eight original pages of storyboards from Cinderella's emotional dress-ripping sequence, all attributed to screenwriter and storyboard artist Joe Rinaldi (1914 - 1974). Rinaldi's first feature was Fantasia, and he went on to contribute to films like Dumbo, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, and Sleeping Beauty. The storyboards are largely rendered in charcoal with multiple rough storyboards on each 12 field page, some trimmed and attached with tape. They start when the coach arrives to take Lady Tremaine and her daughters to the ball at roughly 38:48 and continue through the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine leaving Cinderella with her dress in tatters at 41:34. The sequence was one of the most dramatic and effective in the film, and a moment that has pulled at audiences heartstrings for decades. The expressive storyboards range from 6'' x 2'' on the page to 13.25'' x 7'' combined. Fans and collectors of the film will have to add this to their collection before the clock strikes twelve!
