Description

Cinderella Original Pair of Layout Drawings by Ken O'Connor (Walt Disney, 1950). Disney Legend Ken O'Connor (1908 - 1998), an experienced art director and layout artist who worked on 13 feature films and nearly 100 shorts in his thirty plus years at the studio, was known for the detail and personality he put into all of his layouts. This lot of one of the hallways in Lady Tremaine's expensive home in Cinderella is a prime example of the work he put into each scene. The layouts were created for about 9:54 as Cinderella readies the house for Lady Tremaine and her stepsisters, pulling back the curtains and approaching her stepmother's door. The majority of the details in the layout remain in the final background, aside from a few patterns O'Connor created on the carpeted floor. Both 16 field pages are rendered in graphite with Cinderella in a color pencil silhouette on one page. These layouts helped both animators and background artists and range from about 11.5'' x 11.75'' to the entire page and are in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear, faint toning, and torn peghole.
