Description

Cinderella Lady Tremaine and Cinderella Animation Drawing Pair (Walt Disney, 1950). Featured in this lot is a pair of incredible 12 field animation drawings of Cinderella and her cruel stepmother Lady Tremaine from Disney's 1950 masterpiece Cinderella, the film that saved the studio from bankruptcy. Cinderella's drawing is rendered in graphite with color pencil and Lady Tremaine's rough animation drawing is rendered in color pencil, both with striking detail and emotion. You can find the 3-peghole drawing of Cinderella at about 22:35 as she tries to tell her stepmother that she didn't put Gus under Anastasia's teacup, though Tremaine cuts her off in an instant. The 5-peghole animation drawing of Tremaine was created for roughly 1:01:24 after she informs everyone Prince Charming is searching for the mysterious dancer at the ball. Cinderella drops the tea set and Tremaine whips around, eyes wide. Both of these are key scenes and wonderful additions to any Cinderella collection. The drawings measure about 5" and 6" tall on the sheets of 12 field animation paper (Lady Tremaine's sheet is 5-peghole). Cinderella's is noted 27 in the lower right and the second drawing is unnumbered. Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint age-related toning.
