Cinderella Disney Consumer Products Drawings Group of 9 (Walt Disney, c.1980-90s).
"Yet, through it all, Cinderella remained ever gentle and kind, for with each dawn she found new hope that someday, her dreams of happiness would come true." Cinderella was forced to work as a scullery maid for her wicked stepmother, Lady Tremaine. Despite the cruelty of her jealous stepfamily, Cinderella remained kind, spirited and internally beautiful. The first piece in this assortment of drawings created for Disney Consumer Products features Cinderella in her ball gown dancing with Prince Charming. The drawing was rendered in graphite on 9.5" x 12" animation paper. The other eight drawings all feature Cinderella's mice friends, Jaq and Gus, her bird friends and Lucifer the cat. The artwork was drawn in graphite on onionskin paper of various sizes averaging 12" x 10". Three of the pieces have additional onionskin drawing overlays. This assortment of drawings all come from the Paul Wenzel collection. Paul was Disney Consumer Products first Art Director for their creative publishing team. In 2000 he retired from Disney after 42 years. Edge wear and some light age-related toning on one piece. Otherwise, the artwork is in Good condition.
