Description

Cinderella Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1950). "Well, I never dreamed it. It's such a surprise. Oh, how can I ever..." Cinderella gets the surprise of a lifetime when her mice friends reveal they finished mending and updating her mother's old dress for the Prince's royal ball in this lovely 16 field 3-peghole animation drawing from Disney's timeless animated classic, premiering in theaters on 3/4/1950. She had nearly given up on the ball, unable to attend after her stepsisters and stepmother took up all her time with chore after chore, but her hopes of fulfilling her dream have been renewed as she spins with the finished dress. The animation of the sequence was supervised by one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" Eric Larson (1905 - 1988) and if you're looking through the film online, you can spot the final version of the pose at about 40:02. The full-figure drawing is rendered in graphite with color pencil and measures approximately 7.5'' tall on the page, marked 57 in the lower right corner. The sheet also bears a hand-written timing chart. The drawing is a wonderful way to remember the key scene from the fan-favorite Disney film and is in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear, faint age-related toning, and light superficial wrinkles away from the drawing.
