Chuck Jones "Lady in Red Dress" Painting (c. 1970s). Don Foster related the story of how this painting came into his possession: "Chuck Jones was displaying his fine art in a gallery in Burbank. He called me when he was in Europe and said, 'My art is not selling, go get it.' I brought back all the artwork and loved this piece, so I hung it in my room at the studio. Chuck comes to take the art home, and sees the painting on my wall. I say 'I want this one.' He says, 'I paid $25 for the frame!' so I took out $25 from my wallet and handed it to him. He said, 'You bought yourself a painting!'" It's a magnificent pastel and gouache on board, signed Charles Martin Jones, and is still in the original "$25" frame Chuck used for his gallery showing. The image area measures 16.5" x 22.5", matted and framed with Plexiglas for an overall 21.5" x 27.5". The art is in Excellent condition. From the Don Foster Collection.
