Chuck Jones Crawford Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 5-2-78 and Chuck Jones: The Dream That Never Was Book Group of 2 (Chicago Tribune/IDW, 1978/2011). This group gives you double your Chuck Jones fix in one lot! First off, there is the original art for a Crawford comic strip drawn by Jones himself. It is produced in ink over blue pencil on paper, then each panel has been cut and pasted onto a Bristol board with an image area of 21.25" x 6.5". The figures of Crawford and Morgan stand approximately 5.5" tall. Crawford's dog, Ralf, is a stat image in all three panels as it was a running joke for all six daily episodes that week. The series only ran for six months, so original artwork from it is a very rare Chuck Jones treasure indeed! This gem is accompanied by a copy of IDW's 2011 book Chuck Jones: The Dream That Never Was, which collects every published Crawford strip (including this one on page 173), and much of the unpublished work as well. The artwork is Plexiglas front framed to 32" x 17" with a COA on the backside. Both art and book are in Excellent condition.
