Casey Bats Again Jan Animation Drawing Sequential Pair Attributed to Fred Moore (Walt Disney, 1954). "His girls were sure of victory, good luck had just occurred- with Kim on first, Peg on second, and Jan a-hugging third!" One of Mighty Casey's triplet daughters, Jan, gets dolled up for the big game in this delightful pair of original animation drawings from Disney's 1954 theatrical short Casey Bats Again attributed to Disney Legend Fred Moore (1911 - 1952). Moore begin his career with Disney in 1930, holding credits in nearly 35 one-reels and about 10 feature films, and was known around the studio for his popular and stylized Freddie's Girls which helped to influence Jan's design seen here. Released as a sequel to Make Mine Music's "Casey at the Bat" segment on June 18, 1954, this would be one of the final features on which Moore contributed before his passing during its production. This sporting follow-up saw the prideful Casey become father and coach to a full baseball team of daughters while hoping they can help redeem his reputation. On the day of a big game, Jan can be spotted tending to the flowers growing at third base near the 6:14 timestamp. Featured full-figured with flower in-hand, Jan has been rendered in graphite and colored pencil on sheets of 12 field animation paper to nicely centered character sizes of 5.25" x 4.25" on drawing 7 and 3" x 4.5" on drawing 18. A pair of CoAs is included with the lot. With typical handling and edge wear including faint age-related toning, some corner/edge creasing, and minor surface wear/staining, overall this demure pair is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
