    Description

Cap'n Crunch Commercial Production Background (Jay Ward, c. 1960s). Jay Ward Studios had a talented roster of directors, animators, writers, and background artists, many who came over from UPA. Bill Hurtz and Pete Burness were two of the best, and they teamed up for a number of Cap'n Crunch cereal commercials. This is one of the most impressive Cap'n Crunch pieces we've seen, a magnificent hand-painted pan production background showcasing the Captain's ship, the SS Guppy, docked at night with a full moon rising over the city. Wow! The colors are simply fantastic! This mixed media painting is on Bristol board measuring approximately 30" x 10.5", and is marked BG1. There's a couple of protective sheets of acetate placed over the art, which is in Fine condition.
