    Description

Cap'n Crunch Commercial Production Background Group (Jay Ward, c. 1960s). Who didn't grow up loving Cap'n Crunch cereal and those crazy cartoon commercials that ran between shows every Saturday morning? Here's a great group of three original, hand-painted background paintings from the 1960s; one is a close shot of the ship's stern, featuring the steering wheel, a flag with "C" emblazoned on it, and a life preserver marked "Guppy." It's on 14" x 10.5" Bristol board marked BG1, with a protective acetate overlay. The second shows a frozen SS Guppy being rescued by a tugboat loaded with boxes of Cap'n Crunch Hot Cereal (actual box images pasted in place), and is on 14" x 10.5" board marked BG17 with acetate. The third background is an amazing 30" x 10.5" pan painting (image area 25" x 10") marked BG S-4, featuring the cozy interior of the Guppy, with a small section of film attached to the acetate overlay. All three show amazing detail, and are in Fine condition.
