Description

Building a Building Pete and Minnie Mouse Production Drawings Sequence of 6 (Walt Disney, 1933). Construction foreman Peg-Leg Pete splits the ladder that Mickey is climbing up (to save Minnie) in this rare sequence of six original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings. This was the 51st Mickey Mouse cartoon and was directed by David Hand, released on 1/7/1933. The sequence with Pete tearing the ladder apart begins at about the 4:49 timestamp and ends a second later; these images (including the ladder) measure approximately 2.75" x 2.75 for drawing #39; 5.25" x 6" for #45; 5" x 6" for #46; and 5.25" x 5.75" for #52. The images of Minnie calling for Mickey don't quite match the scenes with her on a hook; there seems to be a quick cut at the 5:00 mark and these two images may have been cut from the scene. Her image sizes are 2" x 2.75" for drawing #113, and 2" x 3" for #114. The art is in graphite and is in Very Good condition with light handling wear and age-related paper toning.
