Bugs Bunny Illustration by Bob Clampett (Warner Brothers, c. 1960s-70s). "Eh, what's up, Doc?" Bob Clampett (1913 - 1984) began working at Harmon-Ising in 1931. Harman and Ising were an animation team known for founding the Warner Brothers and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer animation studios. He started directing Warner Brothers cartoons in 1937. Mr. Clampett worked at Warner Brothers for 15 years directing 85 cartoons before leaving in 1946. Animation historian Jerry Beck said of his work, "he put the word Looney into Looney Tunes." This is an outstanding hand-drawn sketch of Bugs Bunny in his classic 1940s model style. Detailed in graphite with red pencil highlights. Amazing image of 8". The artwork was drawn on a 12 field, 3-peghole animation sheet. He writes "EHHH what's up Charlie? From Bugs and Bob Clampett" adding a Beany copter hat over his signature! Minor handling and edge wear. Otherwise, Very Good condition.
