Description

Brave Little Tailor Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1938). Disney went all out for Mickey's 10th anniversary by creating one of his greatest shorts of all time: the Burt Gillett and Bill Roberts-directed Brave Little Tailor. The short was loosely based on the Grimm fairy tale of the same name and was later adapted into a comic in the Sunday Mickey Mouse strip. It cast Mickey as the titular tailor who valiantly killed seven flies and brags about his accomplishment to a few townspeople after mishearing their conversation. Soon the king, the princess, and the entire kingdom think he's killed seven giants instead and they send him out of the kingdom to defeat Gustav the giant, who has been destroying homes and crops nearby. Mickey has no idea what to do now that he's found himself in this mess, but he'll have to think quick on his feet because Gustav has found him in the 12 field 5-peghole animation drawing in this lot. The approximately 4.5'' x 4'' figure was created for the scene at 4:41 when a gigantic shadow falls over Mickey and he searches for the source of the tremors shaking the ground, only to find that it's Gustav towering over him. The drawing is numbered 5 in the lower right corner and is in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear, minimal superficial wrinkling, and faint age-related toning.
