DescriptionBone Bandit Pluto and Gopher Animation Drawings Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1948). When Pluto decides to dig up one of his buried bones, he discovers a gopher has gotten into the garden, and is using them to prop up his underground passages. That's the story in this Charles Nichols-directed short, which was first shown in theaters on 4/30/48. Here's a fun sequence of original 12 field 5-peghole animation drawings of the scene where Pluto is underground in the gopher's tunnel, trying his best to wrestle away a bone from this pesky critter. The first drawing image is found online at the 5:51 mark, with the final drawing hitting the 5:54 mark. Art is in graphite with red and blue pencil highlights. The pages are noted as #10 (Pluto is just entering the image area as the gopher drags away the bone; #41, #54, and #91, where Pluto finally gets one end of the bone in his mouth. This final piece has an overall image size of 8.5" x 2.25", with Pluto's feet outlined in red. The drawings are in Very Good condition with minor handling wear
