DescriptionBob Clampett "Wayne Harden" In-House Illustration (Warner Brothers, c. 1930s). Very rare in-studio gag drawing of pianist Wayne Harden, holding a bottle of liquor in one hand and smoking a big cigar. The art is captioned "To Wayne -- The hardest guy to caricature I know -- but a very fine fellow nevertheless." and is signed as Bob Clampett in the lower right. Mr. Clampett worked on Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies shorts from 1931 until 1946, and is considered the designer of several classic WB characters, including Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, and Tweety. Art is in graphite and color pencils on a sheet of 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. Vertical fold crease, with paper toning and handling/edge wear. Good condition.
