Boat Builders Mickey Mouse Animation Drawings Sequence of 5 (Walt Disney, 1938). Mickey Mouse and friends Donald Duck and Goofy attempt to build a boat, which is made from fold-out parts in Walt Disney's short subject film, Boat Builders released on 2/25/38. In this short, the instructions simply say "All You Do Is Put It Together" and "Even A Child Can Do It." They name their new boat Queen Minnie and set out on their maiden voyage which turns out to be their last when the boat collapses as she sets sail, thanks to Minnie Mouse hitting the champagne bottle to christen the boat just a little too hard. We have a wonderful sequence of five production drawings of Mickey Mouse. You will see these images around the 1:29 mark in Boat Builders as Mickey carries a box containing the mast and then pulls the instructions from his overalls. These one-of-a-kind images were hand-drawn using graphite and colored pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The image area measures approximately 4" x 4". The artwork has mild age-related toning. Very Good condition.
