Boat Builders Goofy Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1938). Walt Disney's short subject film, Boat Builders was directed by Ben Sharpsteen and released on 2/25/38. In this short, Mickey Mouse and his friends Donald Duck and Goofy attempt to build a boat, which is made from fold-out parts. The instructions simply say "All You Do Is Put It Together" and "Even A Child Can Do It." They name their new boat Queen Minnie and set out on their maiden voyage which turns out to be their last when the boat collapses as she sets sail, thanks to Minnie Mouse hitting the champagne bottle to christen the boat just a little too hard. We have a wonderful production drawing of Goofy opening the crate containing the boat. You will see this image at the 0:45 mark in Boat Builders. Goofy measures 3.75" tall. These one-of-a-kind pieces were hand-drawn using graphite and colored pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Age-related toning. Very Good condition.
