Bill Tytla The Incredible Mr. Limpet Storyboards Original Art Group of 3 (Warner Brothers, 1964). Master animator Tytla, inspired as a child by the experimental moving-cartoon productions of Winsor McCay, became one of the field's great innovators, from Disney's Fantasia to Paramount/Famous' Little Lulu to Terrytoons' Deputy Dawg. Tytla had retrenched in advertising when summoned by Warners to transform Don Knotts into an animated fish for The Incredible Mr. Limpet. These spontaneous conceptual/narrative pieces date from Tytla's hitch as supervising animator on Limpet. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 6.25" x 3.5". Light toning and smudging. Excellent condition.
