Bill Plympton The Simpsons Season 19 DVD Box Set Animation Drawing and Rough Layout Drawing Group of 9 (Fox, 2019). Created for The Simpsons season 19 DVD box set menu sequence comes this group of 8 original animation drawings with a coordinating rough layout drawing by Bill Plympton. In 2019 Plympton was hired to design the packaging and animated menu for this season's DVD box set. He currently holds the record for most Simpsons couch gags by a guest director having produced eight between 2012 and 2022. His decades-long career includes contributions to such venerable publications as the New York Times, Rolling Stone, and National Lampoon as well as dozens of award-winning independent cartoon shorts. Working in tandem as animated foreground and background, this sequential collection of drawings appears during Disc #3's progression as the panicked family surges down the throat of a dinosaur in their out-of-control car. The 4 drawings featuring the Simpsons as well as the 4 background drawings featuring the dino's esophagus have all been rendered in colored pencil on 12 field 3-peghole paper with sequence numbers in the lower right; Plympton's signature can be found on all four drawings featuring the family numbered A, B, C, and 1. The rough layout has been rendered in graphite on slightly larger 3-peghole onionskin paper measuring approximately 12.5" x 10". No cels were used in the making of this animated sequence, this is the actual artwork hand-drawn by Bill Plympton and filmed. A print of the DVD boxset cover is included for reference. This is truly a unique and one-of-a-kind collection of art from the collaboration of two animation giants, Bill Plympton and Matt Groening. Light handling and edge wear including a vertical center fold to the rough layout drawing and some minor corner creasing, overall Very Good condition.More information about Bill Plympton.
