Description

Betty's May Party Betty Boop Animation Drawing (Max Fleischer, 1933). Here is an exquisitely detailed animation drawing of Betty from the Dave Fleischer-directed short. A particularly strange cartoon, at one point an elephant punctures a rubber tree, whose spraying sap turns the whole town rubbery. Betty and the gang use their newfound limberness to dance and sing. This short has the distinction of featuring music by Duke Ellington ("It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing"). This exact image can be seen at the 1:37 minute mark as she and Bimbo march in a parade. The full body image measuring 3.5" tall is rendered in graphite on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper and the number 19 is written in the upper right corner. The art is matted and framed under glass with an opening of 8" x 10.5" in a 13.5" x 15" frame. It shows very light handling and condition is Fine. Frame is sold as-is.
