Beep Prepared Wile E. Coyote Original Rough Production Drawing by Chuck Jones (Warner Brothers, 1961). Wile E. Coyote, also known simply as "the Coyote", and the Road Runner are a duo of cartoon characters from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons. In each episode, the Coyote repeatedly attempts to catch and eat the Road Runner, but is never successful. Instead of his animal instincts, the Coyote uses absurdly complex contraptions. The characters were created by legendary animator and director Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002) and writer Michael Maltese (1908 - 1981) in 1948 for Warner Brothers. In this lot we have a superb rough animation drawing of Wile E. Coyote, from the hand of Chuck Jones. This is a great full-figure image measuring 4" tall; it can be seen in the short at the 4:29 mark. The image was rendered in graphite on 12 field, 3-peghole animation paper. The art is floated in a 21" x 17.5" frame with Plexiglas and a mat opening of 14.5" x 11". Frame sold as-is. The piece has very mild age-related toning, a small smudge on the upper right edge. Very Good condition.
