Beach Picnic Pluto and Donald Duck Animation Drawings Sequence of 6 (Walt Disney, 1939). Donald gets wrapped up tight as a bundle with sticky fly paper, in the conclusion of this summertime short, which was directed by Clyde Geronimi and released to theaters on 6/9/39. Here's a colorful sequence of original 12 field 5-peghole drawings from the finale, as a trussed-up Donald gets his face (the only part of him not covered by the fly paper) licked by his beach companion, Pluto. The first drawing in this sequence, with Donald alone, is marked as number 11 in the lower right, and can be seen in online viewings at the 7:50 mark. Continuing in the same second, drawings #12 and 13 have Pluto entering the picture as he leaps toward Donald. With drawing #20, Pluto lands on our hapless hero with a thud. In the last two drawings, noted as 65½ and 67, Pluto is happily showing his affection to his buddy Donald, seen at the 7:54 mark. Artwork is in graphite with great green and red penciling throughout. Donald's image size in #11 is approximately 4" x 4.5", and the final drawing with Pluto measures a large 8" x 5.5". A fun sequence! Overall condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear.
