Description
Batman Beyond "Meltdown" Batman Original Production Cel Setup and Original Animation Drawings (Warner Brothers, 1999). "Terry, there's something hot in that room." "No...kidding!" While operating from the Bat Cave, Bruce tries to assist Batman (Terry) with his fight against the corrosive villain, Blight, and the bone-chilling, Mr. Freeze, as Batman stares down at the man who ordered his father's murder in this original hand-painted cel setup with matching animation drawing. Originally aired over 25 years ago on 2/13/1999 as Episode 5 of Season 1, this episode sees a new geneticist at Wayne-Powers named Dr. Stephanie Lake build a new body for Victor Fries (Mr. Freeze) as a test for a treatment meant to cure Derek Powers' affliction of having a radioactive body. Fries tries to redeem himself, but neither the former Batman, Bruce Wayne, nor his former victims completely trust him, and his benefactors have plans of their own - a forced biopsy. Wayne's protégé, Terry McGinnis, seeks to help Fries with his redemption. Batman's cel figure, measuring approximately 5.75" x 6.5", is displayed over a scene matching print background for presentation purposes, while the hand-drawn figure, measuring at 5.75" x 7", is rendered in graphite with colored pencils on 3-peg hole animation paper. Both pieces bear a Warner Brothers Production Art seal in the lower right corners and can be seen at the 17:24 timestamp of the episode. The overall condition is Very Good with very light surface wear on drawing, and minor handling wear and edge wear.Auction Info
