Description

Barnyard Dawg Animation Drawing and Animator's Practice Sheet Group of 2 (Warner Brothers, c. 1950s-60s). This much put-upon pooch appeared in 24 classic Looney Tunes shorts, usually as the victim of Foghorn Leghorn's pranks. However, he did co-star with Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, and those wacky gophers Mac and Tosh; sometimes he was referred to as George P. Dog or Rover, but for many, he is simply known as Dawg. Here he is in an original 12 field animation drawing from one of his cartoons, in graphite with red pencil highlights; approximate image size is 3.5" x 5". Not enough Dawg for you? Here's a real rarity, an animator's practice sheet with three great images, all in graphite with red penciling on the full-figure image. The artist is Anatole "Tolly" Kirsanoff (1911 - 1973), who worked on several Dawg shorts, including Walky Talky Hawky (1946) and One Meat Brawl (1947). Tolly's page is in Good condition with handling/edge wear and age-related paper toning; the production piece is in Very Good condition with minor handling.
