    Description

Bambi Storyboard Drawing (Walt Disney, 1942). Based on the Felix Salten book, Bambi, a Life in the Woods, the story development on this film was performed by George Stallings, Melvin Shaw, Carl Fallberg, Chuck Couch, and Ralph Wright. This is a highly stylized storyboard of an Bambi as an adult. It is rendered in graphite and charcoal on a 4.5" x 5" panel mounted to the center of a sheet of black 12 field 5-peghole animation paper presumably for photographic purposes. This is truly beautiful piece of concept artwork from a beloved Disney feature film. It shows minor handling and tape on the borders behind the black paper; otherwise, condition is Very Good.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
