Bambi Faline and Bambi Storyboards Original Art by Marc Davis Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1942). Bambi's first encounter with playful fawn Faline doesn't go well for him, especially when she bumps him into a shallow pond! This scene is nicely captured in a pair of original concept/storyboard drawings from the hand of Disney Legend and one of "Walt's Nine Old Men," Marc Davis (1913 - 2000). In the Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston book Bambi: The Story and the Film, they have this to say about Mr. Davis' work on the film: "His deer looked like deer... but they could be understood as having human thoughts and feelings. Faline was coy, she was spirited and playful, and she had a twinkle in her eye; she sparkled." The art is in graphite, with blue pencil on one, on paper measuring 8" x 6.5", and 7.5" x 6". The two pieces are matted together and framed using glass for an overall frame size of 25.25" x 13.5". Art is in Good condition with handling and edge wear; both have small edge pieces missing, but none that compromise these beautiful drawings.Auction Info
