Bambi Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1942). "Hey Bambi, watch what I can do!" says Thumper to Bambi as he slides across the ice. This adorable scene happens after Bambi wakes up with his mother for the first time as he sees and walks in the snow. This is an early layout/concept of Bambi and Thumper from the famous ice scene, which is considered very rare, especially early development pieces. It is widely known that in the beginning, the animators were drawing real life animals. Real life deer anatomy model sheets were created when live deer and animals were brought in for drawing classes. Assignments switched to those who could draw real life animals. This is a large image of 3" and 8". The piece was created using graphite on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The art is in a mat measuring 17" x 14" with a mat opening of 11" x 8". There is a crease through bottom left which goes through Thumper's right leg. Minor handling and edge wear; otherwise the piece is in Good condition.
