Description

Babes in the Woods Witch and Children on a Broom Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932). This Burt Gillett-directed Silly Symphony was loosely inspired by Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm and told the story of two children who stumbled on a village full of dwarfs, only to be taken by a witch and lured into a candy house. In this original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawing, the witch has taken the children on her broom and is coming in for a landing as seen at about the 3:28 timestamp. This incredible image is drawn in graphite with a faint red pencil notation; the art has an approximate image size of 9.5" x 4" and is marked 40 in the upper and lower right corners. The condition is Good to Very Good with minor handling and age-related paper toning, especially along the top edge.
