Babes in the Woods Original Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932). Babes in the Woods is a Silly Symphony loose retelling of Hansel and Gretel, directed by Burt Gillett, produced by Walt Disney himself and released on 11/19/32. In the cartoon, two children, lost in the woods, stumble upon a dwarf village. They're lured into a candy house by a witch with cruel intentions, but are saved by the dwarfs and the witch meets her end. In this lot we have a superb animation drawing of the witch and the children riding on her broom. You will find this image around the 2:59 mark in the short. The drawing was rendered in graphite on 12 field animation paper and contains notations by the animator on the top right section of the drawing. The image area measures 8.5" x 4.25" and is housed in a frame of 19.5" x 17" under Plexiglas with a mat opening of 11" x 8.5". Frame sold as-is. This rare vintage animation art and would be a fantastic acquisition for any discerning collector. Condition is Very Good. From the MacLaughlin Family Disney Collection.
