    Description

Alpine Climbers Mickey Mouse Animation/Model Drawing (Walt Disney, 1936). Mickey helps himself to a nest of eagle eggs, unaware of the mother eagle standing behind him who is not too keen on having her babies eaten. Alpine Climbers premiered in 1939 and would later be revisited in the 2010 video game Epic Mickey in a level based on the Dave Hand-directed short. This particular scene takes place around the 2:10 mark. The drawing is rendered on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper in graphite with red highlights, and the image size is 4" x 3.5". There are artist notes around the image, and the page is stamped "MODEL DRAWING / Return to Dot Powers" in the upper left corner. Ms. Powers was supervisor of the Ink and Paint Department at this time and she selected this drawing of Mickey in the scene as correct for use as a model. The art is numbered 85. Very Good condition with tanning and slight wear along the edges
