Description

Alice in Wonderland White Rabbit's House Concept/Layout Drawing Group of 5 by Ken O'Connor (Walt Disney, 1951). "I wonder who lives here..." The White Rabbit's enchanting forest cottage is on full display with this group of 5 original concept/layout drawings created by Disney Legend Ken O'Connor (1908 - 1998) for the 1951 adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. A master of manipulating perspective, O'Connor was known for his layout work and art direction during his over 30 years with Disney. Here he presents two full-rendered concepts for the exterior of the White Rabbit's house and surrounding foliage similar to the 20:54 timestamp of the film seen as Alice approaches the iconic cottage, along with an additional stand-alone image of the home's exterior and two highly detailed layouts showcasing the interior's upper floor from multiple angles. Each piece has been rendered in charcoal on sheets of 16 field animation paper with image areas ranging from 8" x 4" to an incredibly frame-filling 15.5" x 12.5". Both full exterior concepts even note the garden of "live flowers" that go on to preform "Golden Afternoon" for Alice after she narrowly escapes an unexpected growth spurt from a snuck snack. With typical handling and edge wear including faint age-related toning, small areas of smudging, minor corner creasing, and pinholes with small edge tears, overall this quaint cottage collection is in Good condition.
