Description
Alice in Wonderland "Very Good Advice" Alice Animation Drawing Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1951). "I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it." The sequence of three enormous 16 field 3-peghole animation drawings in this lot feature the one and only Alice from Disney's Alice in Wonderland during the "Very Good Advice" musical sequence. Alice sings the song, composed by Sammy Fain with lyrics by Bob Hilliard, after she finds herself lost in Tulgey Wood. Disney Legend and one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" Milt Kahl (1909 - 1987) supervised the animation of this sequence and the rest of "Very Good Advice", leading to the most emotional segment in the film where Alice wonders if she'll ever make it back home. These drawings created for the moments seen at about the 55:39 mark, during the last lines of the song. The huge drawings are rendered in graphite and range from roughly 7.75'' x 6.5'' to 8.25'' x 9.25''. Marked 81, 102, and 146, in the lower right corner. The lot is in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint age-related toning. From the Disney Legend Manuel Gonzalez Archive.
