Description

Alice in Wonderland Alice Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1951). "Just what specie, or shall we say genus, are you, my dear?" In this lot, we present a lovely original 16 field 3-peghole animation drawing of Alice from Disney's Alice in Wonderland, originally released to theaters on 7/26/1951. The film follows Alice as she wandered Wonderland in search of the White Rabbit and came across all sorts of strange characters along the way. This graphite drawing of the protagonist is beautifully detailed and was created for about the 30:20 mark of the film, after Alice and the other flowers finish singing "All in the Golden Afternoon". The Rose, voiced by British actress Doris Lloyd who later made appearances in Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music, continues to try to ask the girl what kind of flower she is. Alice simplifies her genus as much as she can, but the flowers still mock her at every turn. Alice measures approximately 4.5'' x 6.25'' and is numbered 95 in the lower right corner. Very Good condition with faint edge and handling wear, and light age-related toning.
