Description
Aladdin Sequence of 3 Jafar (as Beggar) Production Drawings (Walt Disney, 1992). "Why would you share all of this wonderful treasure with me?" This awesome trio of 16-field 5-peghole animation drawings from Disney's award-winning Aladdin captures Jafar, disguised as the sinister old beggar, as he lures Aladdin into the treacherous Cave of Wonders to retrieve the Genie's lamp. Found near the 26:17 timestamp, this pivotal moment showcases Jafar's cunning plan, as he has no intention of letting Aladdin leave alive. Rendered in graphite with color pencil, the drawings feature full and nearly full-figure images, highlighting dynamic poses and expressive details that bring the beggar's deceitful nature to life. Measuring approximately 5.25'' x 5.25'' to 6.25'' x 6.25'', the pages are numbered 11, 34, and 48 in the lower right corner, with drawing 11 circled indicating it to be a key frame attributed to Disney Legend Andreas Deja who served as supervising animator for Jafar. Drawing 11 also includes a timing chart and notes for additional production insight. With Aladdin animated using the groundbreaking CAPS process, physical production art is highly sought after, especially for Jafar's beggar disguise, which appears briefly in the film. In Good condition, the drawings show light edge and handling wear consistent with production use.
