Description

Aladdin Jafar Animation Drawing by Disney Legend Andreas Deja (Walt Disney, 1992). "If in the event a suitable prince cannot be found... A princess must be wed to... Hmm. Interesting." Presented in this lot is a 12 field animation drawing of a scheming Jafar from Aladdin by Disney Legend Andreas Deja, Jafar's supervising animator as well as the supervising animator for Hercules, Gaston, and Lilo among other wonderful characters. The graphite with color pencil drawing was created for the scene at around 47:59 as Jafar reads the Sultan the supposed rules about Jasmine's marriage and acts shocked when he sees that the princess will have to marry the royal vizier if she doesn't find a suitor in time. It didn't make it into the final film, but was likely created for a pencil test of the scene. It is enormous on the page at roughly 11.25'' x 9.5'' and an amazing close-up of the unforgettable villain that we love to hate. The page is noted 61 in the lower right corner and is in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint toning.
From the Disney Legend Inductee Andreas Deja Collection.
