Aladdin Animation Drawings by Ferdinand Hovarth (Walt Disney, c. 1930s). This is a series of three Ferdinand Horvath originals created for a Disney project that was never completed. Ferdinand Horvath (1892 - 1973) was a gifted character designer who worked for the Walt Disney Studios from 1933 - 1937. His work can be seen on such Disney shorts as Cookie Carnival, Band Concerts, Old King Cole and Old Mill. He also did extensive work on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. His work at Disney is written about considerably by Didier Ghez in his book They Drew as They Pleased - The Hidden Art of Walt Disney's Golden Age. His artwork is coveted by collectors of animation. Two of the images are cutout and mounted on a 12" x 9" sheet of paper with a character drawing in the center of the piece. The number 15 is written in the top right corner on this graphite and gouache work. Images measure 4" - 7". "F.M.Horvath Hollywood" is written in his distinctive style in the lower right. Pinholes in the corners, slight glue residue; otherwise the composition is in Very Good condition.
