    Description

Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp Popeye and Olive Oyl Studio Publicity Drawing by Anton Loeb (Max Fleischer, 1939). "Oh thank you, oh big tall and handsome" says Princess Olive to Aladdin/Popeye, at about the 13:03 mark into this two-reel theatrical cartoon. It was directed by Dave Fleischer and was released on 4/7/39. This is believed to be a studio publicity drawing for this short, from the hand of Anton Loeb. He was a Scenic (background) artist for the studio at this time. He also would later go on to become a leading children's book illustrator. This is a great detailed graphite drawing on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper, labeled "Aladdin X-8-1" with a copyright Fleischer Studios Inc. in the bottom border. It is signed Anton Loeb (1908 - 1984) in the bottom right corner. Minor handling and edge wear. Very Good condition.
