    Description

Aesop and Son "Sick Lion" Production Background (Jay Ward, 1962). The "Aesop and Son" segments of The Bullwinkle Show, voiced by Charlie Ruggles and Daws Butler, were a highlight of this fondly-remembered television series. "The Sick Lion" was the tale of a hypochondriac lion who gets cured of his sneezing by a sly fox and becomes a popular singer; this wonderfully stylized view of Las Vegas occurs near the end of the segment. Note the all the famous hotel signs -- Sands, Riviera, Thunderbird, and Last Frontier -- that flash on and off in the scene. The art is painted in mixed media on Bristol board measuring 20" x 10.5", with a protective sheet of Acetate taped from the top. Fine condition. Love those crazy stylized cars!
