A Star is Hatched Charlie Chaplin Animation Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1938). The doors open wide in studio dressing room #9 for Charlie Chaplin, in this wonderful and rare original animation/color model drawing. It's from Friz Freleng and Ted Pierce's takeoff on the 1937 Janet Gaynor and Fredric March film A Star Is Born, with animation by Robert McKimson. The cartoon features film star wannabe Emily the Chicken plus a slew of great Old Hollywood caricatures like this one. You can see this online as Charlie's doors (including one for his oversized shoes) swing open, at the 5:29 mark. The art is in graphite and color pencils on a sheet of 12 field 2-peghole animation paper, with a figure size of 4.5". The page is noted as 1C in the lower right corner. There's a tiny spot of red paint to the left, well away from the image; otherwise, the condition is Fine.
