A Star is Hatched Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Warner Brothers, 1938). Not to be confused with the latest version of A Star is Born starring Lady Gaga, this is a sequence of three animation drawings of silent film superstar Charlie Chaplin, walking and twirling his cane. These were actually drawn by a young Robert McKimson (1910-1977) who went on to become one of Warner Brothers' top animation directors. He animated in this Friz Freleng-directed short that was released on 4/2/38. The scene to this sequence can be seen around the 5:30 mark, when Emily walks on the lot, and past Dressing Room #9. They are rendered in graphite with brown, green, and tan pencil highlights on 12 field 2-peghole paper. Three wonderful 6" tall images of a Golden Age of Hollywood star. Any artwork from early Warner Brothers shorts is considered very rare. All show light handling wear; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
