    Description

"Ventriloquist Cat" Cartoon Illustration by Bob Singer (MGM, c. 2000s). Veteran animator Bob Singer illustrates a scene from this screamingly funny 1950 Tex Avery short, about an alley cat who discovers a magician's device for throwing voices, pranking the bulldog chasing him. Here, the dog is obviously the "butt" of the joke! Mr. Singer has been in the animation business since his work as a background artist for The Mouse That Jack Built (1959), with many years spent working for former MGM directors Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. This ink and watercolor illustration is on watercolor paper with "deckled" edges; image area is approximately 8" x 6.25". The art is float-mounted on a sheet of black velour board measuring 20" x 16", ready for framing. Fine condition.
