    Description

"The Art of Preston Blair" Anatomy Study Drawings Group of 4 (c. 1930s-40s). Preston Blair (1908 - 1995) was a brilliant animator and artist. He worked on Mickey Mouse in Fantasia, was the principle animator of Red Hot in the Tex Avery Unit at MGM, and did some great animation in the beginning of Hanna-Barbera's landmark series, The Flintstones. Here is a series of four Preston Blair anatomy studies. Two are magnificent pen and ink with brown pencil studies on 2-peghole animation paper. Images take up the entire sheet of 11". The other two pieces in the lot appear to be nude anatomy studies done at a sketching class. Again, these are beautiful images in graphite on animation paper/drawing paper, with images of 11" and 12". All four pieces are stunning and are from the hand of the late great Preston Blair. Minor handling and edge wear; Good condition. From the Blair Family Trust.
