"The Art of Lee Blair" Red Barn Watercolor Painting (Walt Disney, c. 1930s-50s). Mary Richardson married Lee Blair (1911 - 1993) in 1934. At the time of their marriage, Lee Blair was a key developer of a regionalist California style of representational watercolors, defined by large format of free broad brush strokes and rich colors. In 1935, at the age of 23, Lee became the President of the California Water Color Society. He organized numerous traveling exhibits for the society's artworks. From the Mary Blair Family Trust comes this stunning Lee Blair original watercolor of a Red Barn. The dark sky is simply stunning! The painting is untitled and unsigned. It is in a mat from his personal portfolio of work. The mat measures 20" x 16", with a mat opening of 13" x 11". Art paper in full is 16" x 12". Minor handling and surface wear. Good condition. From the Mary Blair Family Trust.
