    "The Art of Elmer Plummer" Woman With Brown Hair Painting (Walt Disney, c. 1930s). Elmer Plummer (1910 - 1986) was an Art Director/Character Designer for such Walt Disney Studio films like Fantasia, Dumbo, Song of the South, Victory Through Airpower, and Make Mine Music. He was involved with the Walt Disney Studio in some capacity till the day he died. In his youth, he was awarded a three-year scholarship to Chouinard Art Institute, which later became California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Los Angeles. He studied under Willard Sheets. Elmer Plummer became an important member of the California Water Color Society. His works were displayed in many art shows and museums, where he won a number of awards and citations. This is one of the earliest Elmer Plummer Fine Art paintings. It is painted in oils on canvas and may go back to his college days. It is a stretched canvas measuring 22" x 18". It is untitled and unsigned, but remains a stunning example of the Art of Elmer Plummer. Minor handling and surface wear. Good condition. From the Elmer Plummer Archives.
