"The Art of Elmer Plummer" Winter Scene Painting (Walt Disney, c. 1930s). This is a stunning Elmer Plummer original watercolor painting that he titled "Wright Wood." It is believed to be one that he sent to exhibits and museum collections. Elmer Plummer (1910 - 1986) first began his animation career at Warner Brothers Studios before joining the Walt Disney Studios. He had a long art career with the studio as well as a long teaching career at Chouinard Art Institute (CalArts) He was one of the leading artists in the 1930s California Water Color Movement. It was his success in this art form that most likely gave him exposure to the Walt Disney Studios. His 1930s watercolor paintings are in high demand by collectors of the 1930s California Water Color Movement. This is one of the best from Elmer Plummer we have seen. The main painting is matted with an opening of 13" x 17", with a small mat opening for the title and his signature. It's framed with glass for am overall size of 24.5" x 31".
