"The Art of Elmer Plummer" Original Watercolor Painting (Walt Disney, 1938). This is a stunning Elmer Plummer original watercolor painting titled "Drying Driftwood." Elmer Plummer (1910 - 1986) began his animation career at Warner Brothers before joining the Walt Disney Studios. He had a long career with the studio as well as teaching at Chouinard Art Institute, which later became California Institute of the Arts when it merged with the LA Conservatory of Music in 1961. He was one of the leading artists of the 1930s California Water Color Movement. It was Elmer's success in this art form that most likely gave him exposure to the Walt Disney Studios. His 1930s watercolor paintings are in high demand by collectors of the California Watercolor Movement. The piece is hand-signed by Elmer Plummer in bottom right corner. The painting is in a 26" x 20" frame with Plexiglas, with a mat opening of 19" x 12". The frame is sold as-is; the artwork is in Very Good condition. From the Elmer Plummer Archives.
